Where to buy projectors for retrofit?

Where to buy projectors for retrofit? + shrouds? what else do i need?

any one got any sources? locally maybe? with good prices? cus i dont know roughly how much they go for. it would be epic if some one has the q45 projectors ;)

i got some mini cooper projectors if your interested,

shenmecar 01-24-2010 06:21 PM

why dont you just give Tony a call. You've probably seen his bixenon HID projector retrofit already. And if you can, get it done quickly, stop blinding the fuck out of everyone with your HIDs in halogen reflector housings. Also take off your aftermarket HID fogs. those are fucking blinding as well.

kthxbye

There is always those USA providers for retrofit parts.

I have been eyeing http://store.theretrofitsource.com/ for my parts. Just haven't gotten around to it because I don't know if i want to DIY or just get someone (and experienced someone) to do it so I dont have any condensation problems.

Do you know a good retrofitter in Vancouver?

q45 projectors look good but suck. If you have room, you might in the EL. You can get the ls projectors it's about 160 degrees of light

these have horrible width comparing to real hid projectors and it wont cost much more

if you wanna get as oem as it gets go to retrofitsource but it's quite a bit $$

I say get it from hid planet. I got a set of tsx projectors for 150, +d2s 55watt kit from ddmtuning for 100 so total was about 300cdn I got everything I needed

edit:

this is from the "G1" projector notice the pencil beam on the bottom and the width

that's how that projector compares to others

the fit looks good

AVS_Racing 02-21-2010 12:33 AM

i wanted to get the G3 but i couldn't find it so i ended up getting G1 still waiting for it to come though. the light output of the g1 looks horrible, i wanted to get 55w hids but then ppl say its just sticker or a 55w ballast with 35w bulb. =S

AVS_Racing 02-21-2010 12:34 AM

but yea im too lazy to cut up the reflector so i prefer those plug and play ones + it has halos, if anyone knows where i can get the g3 that would be good.

plug and play projectors ftl! pencil beam width, just watch your going to swap them for real projectors in a couple of months

AVS_Racing 02-21-2010 12:32 PM

LOL probably, btw whats in the hidplanet? it makes u sign up before u can view anything at all. and did u see a real difference with the 55w hids?

CP.AR 02-21-2010 04:37 PM

i got a old set of corolla aftermarket lights with projectors (i know... rice) if you are interested. PM me

Hidplanet's awesome for all you need to know about hid, as for 55 watt because G1 and G3 don't use a regular bulb size nor socket you can't reallly get a 55w kit. However you can rebase a h1 bulb for it. But on hid planet there's people who tried it. There's no difference it'll still suck. Seriously grab some tsx before I smack you hahhahahah

Those will prob be halogen projectors, different in beam width and cut off. Would not suggest using hid in those.

easiest to work with is tsx for single, and fx for bi-xenon

halo's are easy to add to ANY projector. but use CCFL halos they are the brightest, however if you want longevity get LED.

Bad thing about led halo is cheaper ones done have even light distribution
