These have a 30 day warranty. The remotes won't take much punishment and are impossible to replace.
Depending on the year and type of car, you "could" install it yourself, but professionals have certain abilities to thwart thieves beyond your pay scale. No offence, but most people aren't going to look at these things like a person in the industry will.
As for price, Compustar alarm/starters start at $400.00 installed. Call around some independent shops (Revscene sponsors). Explain what you're looking for, what year and type of car you have and then make an informed decision.

we'll i have a 95 eagle talon, it currently has like a griffin polaris 2 or something with an immobilizer, but it has a flip switch and i turned it off. So i don't think i need to worry about that.

Clifford Polaris 2 is super old and quite out-dated. A new alarm would definitely bring peace of mind. Compustar has a great reputation for being incredibly reliable, easy to use and very easy to service (no wait times for sending stuff away - Compustar has a great replacement policy). Add an independent shop to the mix like one of our sponsors and you will have a rock-solid alarm without any hassles.

Those cheap XS cargo alarms are poorly made, have very little warranty and are basically...umm...junk.

By the time you've payed for installation of the xscargo alarm you'll only be about 75 bucks cheaper then a compustar autopage or good comparable. Any other reputable alarm provided by a registered dealer will provide you with peace of mind the no name one wont. After sales service reliability and warranty being at the top of the list.
