Suggestions on clone or replica phones?
 

Are they just as good or better than the original?

ie. went on ebay and interested in getting an HTC phone, saw a replica phone for about $150 and the real deal is about $350-400, both unlocked and all, only difference is:

real deal:
-5.0 MP camera
-full warranty
-all accessories and items included

clone/replica:
-2.0 or 3.2 MP camera
-30 day warranty from seller
-not all accessories included but could be bought separate from ebay
-some ones are triband and quadband

FYI. HTC brand is a Taiwanese brand and replica is all made in China (so it is probably still all chinese made)

Don't get them. A coworker's cousin bought several of these phones - they literally fell apart after 6 weeks of use.

RMA it 3 times in 4 months and still buggy as hell.

Don't do it.

Get the real thing or it isn't worth it. It is going to fall apart in like the month you use it anyways. The price difference isn't for so much for name brand, rather the quality and technology the phone is built on.

what you save buying a replica is what you will spend in repairs, failures, and malfunctioning. not to mention few people fix them cause they're pretty much "disposable"

buy the real deal. they're priced that high for a reason.

i think you should get the replicas. everyone has them. They're better than the originals just like the fake Gucci bags. So m uch cheaper and better quality. Best thing about them is that no one knows they're fake. You just want the image of having a HTC right?

i got a used white htc hero and so far i don't regret forking 400 for it. awesome phone.

forget about the fake phone breaking down, i'd be more scared of the cheap batteries exploding or leaking battery acid

I was duped and was sent a fake 8600 Luna a few years ago. Figure it wasn't worth the time to try and get my money back. The plan was to treat it like shit til it broke but a years later, it's still working tho I'm using winmo phones now. It feels better built than my actual 8801 that I got from Fido.
