That's almost 9 break in's per day. I had no idea of the numbers till now. I think summer time will have higher numbers.

More details found here:

Greenstoner 01-23-2010 08:54 PM

was reading the newspaper the other day, heard the crime rate actually lowered by quite a lot

StylinRed 01-23-2010 09:32 PM

Alarms dont do shit.

They have about 40 seconds to do something before the alarm goes off, and a minute after. That's 1 minute and 40 seconds or 2 minutes of rummaging and stealing.

That means your TV and playstation, or your room for whatever looks expensive and light.

My house was broken into in 2005, alarm was on and everything... lots of electronics and jewelry was stolen. When the alarm goes off it usually takes them a minute to call you... but there were times it went on accidently and they never called... and if they did call to check, robbers would be gone already.

Best thing is just to have your house locked up really good.

Owning a loudy yappy dog might help. But if the burglars insist in entering, they would either injure that dog or get injured themselves and sue you.

What if I put traps around the house and they accidently hurt themselves @@

Install those window bars to prevent people from being able to break into your house through the window... hurry before the world comes to see vancouver! :lol

best alarm is a dog lol. no joke, back when we first moved into our old house, it was broken into several times until we got a dog. after that, no more robberies!
