xbox 360 issue - shades of Green...

Was playing Army of two 40th day, and all of a sudden the screen goes green.

In the darker parts of the game it's green. Press the "360" button it's green rather then blue.

did some research on google, and some are saying it's a video card. Confirm?

If I need to buy a new 360 how can I transfer my saved games from one hd to the new one?

TIA

Transfer kit is the only way. It's kind of stupid that Microsoft didn't devise an easier way to do all of this.

Or, get a 512mb memory card for the 360 to transfer your save files and just redownload everything else on LIVE

I've had a similar issue with green shades. Undo, all of your wiring and replug it all in. that fixed the shades of green. if that doesn't work, expect your xbox to crap out in the week following. you can sign up for an xbox repair through xbox.com. It doesnt take as long to get them back now seeing that they email you a ups bar code for shipping instead of having to wait for a box to come in the mail. GL

so if I re-download everything, would it be okay especially with the stuff I purchased on live (forza 3 car packs).

and jbsali, I did replug everything this is the old 360, so no hdmi. I did replug everything and it's the same.

that's the precursor to the RRoD, the first 360 I bought did that. Just send it in to MS if you can (within 3 years of purchase) via the site, or buy a head gun and a set of torx screwdriver bits and fix it yourself, super easy. If you have any trouble or need directions PM me.

^ mine had RROD last year, so I sent it in and they replaced it. Would it be 3 years from then? or 3 years from the date of purchase.

actually I'm just going to give them a call tomorrow and see what I can do.

thanks guys

Yeah that definitely looks like a dying GPU

I think they give a 30 day or 90 day from when you got the replacement. You may be able to get them to go for 3 years from DOP though.

If not, well you can fix it yourself for $30 worth of tools (hell you could return them after you use them once), I've fixed well over 30 360's in the past 4 months so like I said PM me if you need some directions/advice on the best method. if you're worried about it breaking again after it's fixed them sell it and buy a new arcade.

The 3 years covering RROD is not renewed, it started the day you bought the 360. Only the general 1 year warranty is renewed when it is repaired IF it had already expired they give you a 90 day warranty.
