WTF is "spoken properly" or "Proper Mandarin" or "just plain mandarin"?
LOL
Love the posts on this board.
Its the only reason I come back to RS day after day. Its just so gawd damn entertaining.
Yes. There are many mandarin "dialects".
Northern China dialect is probably what you are referring to. Where they tend to speak louder with stronger rrrr sounds. Almost as if they sound like they are yelling. Yet cantonese sounds allot like yelling too.
In my opinion, a great way to compare is watching a movie thats in Cantonese and then in Mandarin. Mandarin tend to sound better. Give it a try. You might be surprised.
Ask the majority of people who dont speak Cantonese or Mandarin. Most will probably say Mandarin sound better, simply by chosing the way mandarin flows when heard, especially Taiwanese Mandarin. Cantonese tend to end every sentence with a rise in intonation which makes it sound like they are whining. Which is commonly used in racist chinese jokes. example "ching chong hing hong" lol
And to Jivan6.
Ummm... No.. I dont think Im retarded. Thanks for asking.
Yes.. I have seen many mainlanders enter into Hong Kong.
Allot Hong Kong people hate mainlanders.
Though mostly is diguised with slight racism. Most Hong Kong people simply dont want an influx of mainlanders taking over Hong Kong. Which is understandable. Which could possibly be the reason for your hatred of mainlanders entering into Hong Kong.
If not, and its because of their langauge... then remember... not every mandarin dialect is the same.
Then again, if you hate the mandarin language. Then you simply hate it.
If given a chance, you will see, some mandarin dialects really do flow better than cantonese.
No, I do not speak Mandarin.. only Cantonese.
And yeah... Taiwanese chicks are hot...
