My friend's dad went on a hunting trip with a bunch of friends in Africa. One of them (total noob) thought it would stabilize his shot if he pinned his shoulder between the butt and a tree. Needless to say, he shattered his shoulder.

Thats only half of it
Your supposed to lean onto your forward foot almost entirely, standing with only the toes of your rear leg on the ground, that way when it recoils you rock back onto that foot

that wasn't a very good idea.

Reminds me of the first time I shot a 12 guage with a slug. Shit kicked so hard that I lost time. And whatever I was shooting at was long gone after I picked myself up again.

My dad taught me this when I was around 8 or so. Some lessons, we will never forget.
