Millions of Dollars Turned Down To Leave American Idol - Simon Cowell "Simon Cowell turned down $100 million to stay at "American Idol," a source told Page Six, and he now wants to hire music mogul Tommy Mottola as a judge on his new show, "The X Factor." But Cowell insists there are no hard feelings over his leaving to bring over his British smash-hit, "X Factor" in 2011. He told us, "If I thought it would lead to the death of 'Idol,' I genuinely wouldn't have done it. We are sure that 'Idol' will continue successfully." Read more: http://www.nypost.com/p/pagesix/what...#ixzz0e7aN2cie |
what's so confusing... he's leaving AI to concentrate on his OWN show in his home country... seems like a no-brainer to me |
Actually I think it says that he's bring "The X-Factor" here. I think it's a great move by Simon, to not stick with something when the passion isn't there just for money. Can anyone tell me which season American Idol is in without googling it? |
not like he needs that $100mil anyways. even if bringing over x-factor is a complete flop, he'll still have $809247924790248247892478924890 in the bank. |

He is leaving AI to bring X-Factor over to the US (just like AI was brought to the US). It's basically the same show, and IMO people will follow where Simon goes. |
isn't AI still the most viewed show on fox? why do people still bother watching this and survivor is beyond me |
if he brings cheryl cole with him ill watch! Posted via RS Mobile |
AI is probably the most watched show in the US, they had more ppl vote than the election in 2004 |

Simon Cowell paid £21m in income tax in the UK alone three or four years ago. No wonder he turned down $100m. Posted via RS Mobile |

yeeaahhh, I watch :( |
X-Factor is better. AI is getting boring, and the auditions episodes are over produced. I don't want to know about your troubles and how you need idol to change your life. |
the guy has like a maybach, a buggati, and all these properties.. im sure 100mill is nothing to him and he rather do something in his home country. |
