Any DSLR restrictions at olympic events?

Didnt see any restrictions yet but dont want to get screwed over at the opening ceremonies.

anyone know?

Even if you're allowed, you'll have to tough it out sans a bag, as all olympic venues have very limited carry-in items.

According to that, you'll have to leave the speedlight at home too, but SLRs are not on that list.

Better bring out the fast prime lenses :D

Working for a sponsor means I can't really bring out my gear :(

So no flash photography means you can bring cameras like P&S but just not use flash?

200 f2 FTW!

The 200 f2.8 would be my weapon of choice. Black, small, stealthy.

Hmmm 40D or G11... I wanna go through the express lineup so probably go G11.

depends on the venue and your lens lineup for the 40D I guess. If you have fast lenses I think the pictures out of your slr would be worth the wait- considering that this is pretty much a once in a lifetime event.

I like my G10 a lot, but if I had a choice (and the lenses), I'd wait in line to get my 50D in.

Hmm that's very true. My event's up on Cypress. Got a 70-200F4L and a Tamron 17-50 2.8 VC. Guess I'll see when it's closer to the event.

Ahh great lenses! I'd say see what the lineup times are first, but it'd be hard for me to leave the L at home ;)

flash is fine for opening/closing / victory ceremonies

AWDTurboLuvr 02-13-2010 11:34 AM

You can have a small camera bag provided it can stow under the seat or not take up any aisle space. Glad to have a 70-200 2.8VR in my collection now.
