How long you usually kept your phone for?

How long you usually kept your phone for ? Average life of myphone is about 2& half year to 3 years.

Phones are all in working condition but doubt there is any re-sell value after 2 yrs.

Do you guys also kept the phone ? is there a place I can recycle or perhaps let it go to profit a small amount of money ?

10 phones in 6 years.
+4 if i count the ones i used in korea.

I keep my phones for as long as I can which is 3-5 years until something physically goes wrong. They usually end up in my drawer of backup phones when not in use.

Greenstoner 02-02-2010 11:32 AM

i think i've only used 5 phones in 11 years and they are all working still, feel bad for tossing them because there is nothing wrong

its also kept somewhere in my room ...when i think about it, electronic (cell & computer ) are such a waste for environment ..lol , it gets outdated too quick !!

So far, 4 in 5 years; 5 if you count my korean phone too.

Gonna move up to 6(+1) soon though.

I am not the norm.

56+ phones in four years.

I sell them unless I see value in keeping it as a backup (i.e. my Nokia E71) or giving them to family members (i.e. my Nokia E51).

You can go on this site to find out where to drop off your phones to recycle. I dropped mine off at a rogers dealer. http://www.recyclemycell.ca/

I tend to change my cell every 2 years.

i've had 4 phones for 6 years now, going to get my 5th soon

7 (3 new/4 used) in 4 years due to my work environment. I basically get a new phone and use it til it's completely dead or physically broken.

cool... there are actually many stores are doing the recycle program

yuusha 02-02-2010 11:32 PM

I know some of you out there flip phones like once a month... or at least used to.

Personally, I change phones roughly once every 1.5 years.

4 phones in 10 years as I keep them as long as they keep working.

Nokia 8160 - 2000 - 2003
Nokia 6610 - 2003 - 2005
Nokia 8800 - 2005 - 2009
Nokia E52 - 2009 to present

About 1 phone a year on average. Generally my phones don't last more than 2. I keep dropping the damn things.

And yes, it is good to recycle cell phones. Save a tree. :D OP, pretty much all Big 3 stores have a recycling box I've noticed. Some booths have them too. I posted the recyclemycell.ca site on this forum before. It's just a search button away. :p

I used to change phones like there was no tomorrow, N95-3 covered most of the bases I liked so I ended up sticking w/this one going 3 years now. I've yet to try another phone that meets my needs, keeping my eye on Android, can't wait to test one out.
