Purchase decisions - when in doubt, leave it out? Have you ever heard of the saying, "when in doubt, leave it out"? I'm curently thinking about a purchase decision for a product that has many styles, and competition. I really like it, but something keeps my hestitating, it feels like a tug-a-war. I've heard of that quote before and I'm wondering if it can be useful in my situation or for anyone else who had similar situations. |
depends what kind of person you are. i always worry about not being able to pay things off, so i usually won't buy it unless necessary. |
can't you tell us what that product is? |
It's actually "When in doubt, pull it out!". ;) |
if you have to think whether or not you need it..the answer is you do not need it. it'll save you money in the long run..and u probably didnt need it anyways like the warranty on your tv.. like that xbox360 u bought.. like that cappucino u drank today on the bus like that lottery ticket like that camcorder like those olympic tickets and so on..so forth |
Usually there are a million little features that you end up buying a product for and never really end up using. Also be careful of getting sucked in by surprise-and-delight features in a product - they suck you in emotionally but don't end up being too useful long term. |
When I'm usually in those situation, I would assess the situation in a logical way by listing out the reasons why I need the product and what happens if I don't purchase that product. If it's something on sale for a good price, I would also think about how much I would lose if I were to sell it if I don't like it or need it anymore. |
Sometimes it comes to the point I buy it so I can stop thinking about it lol. Posted via RS Mobile |
Always think about resale value. Buy the one that will have best resale down the road. |
"Go big or go home" I tend to only buy cheap stuff if it matches up in quality, or I just don't even bother. |
life is short, if you want it, get it |
what you need to do is put together a Cost vs Benefit analysis, if the benefits outweigh the cost, i think we have our solution i just saved you guys a bunch of money |
The are two different approach to this theory, leave it out and its sold the next time you revisit the store or the price is cheaper the next time you visit the store... Posted via RS Mobile |
What I do is I take the value of the product that I want to buy, then I take that and ask myself "If someone were to offer me this Camera or $1200, which would I take?" Then you start getting into the mentality of how you can pay other shit off with that $1200. If I choose the product anyways, I go ahead and buy it. |

Why do so many people have this mentality? Why buy a product if you have no intention of keeping it? |
buy it , cry later |
If u need to think about the purchase, u dun need it. |

The only thing I purchase with the mentality of reselling is real estate. |

If it is within your reach, you are eventually going to get it since you are putting so much thought into it. Will you be happier with it? Is money an issue? |

When in doubt, whip it out!! |
