Also, Tojo's is good as a la carte sushi adds up quick. Le Crocodile is a great restaurant as well. Nothing but good things to say about it since I went last time. |
if you want to waste money sure.. Tojos, go in before hand, tell the reception you want to spend 1000 a head + 500 drinks. bam, done. call up West tell them u have 2500 dollars to spend and tell them to fax over a menu that's suitable for your budget. it's been done before. |
LOL thankyou 6793026! I'm going to do that next time my buddy loses a bet. Haven't we all done bets like that with our friends? LOL! SO now that's been said, IN FOR THE BET! what was it? |

The best way to do it Quote:
Contact the usual suspects, le Crocodile, Lumiere, Market by Jean-Georges, Cioppino's, Tojo's, have them do up a $2,000 all in tasting menu for two with wine pairing, and see how they get back to you. At Cioppino's they should give you the small private room in the front, and feel free to PM me if you are not sure if the wine they offer are any good. To let your friend know you are not a complete jerk, tell him that as of last Friday, they still have the 1945 Mouton-Rothschild at $12,500 at le Crocodile and you are not going that route. Back then, it was still a 2nd growth under the 1855 Classification. For comparison, here is a $500 charity dinner last year cooked by the same top chefs in Vancouver. They all did one dish. Have fun. |
haha had a couple bets like this b4 that i won friends must be so happy i dont drink alcohol |
^ with you there, i never break the bank with them, i'm a nice guy. haha Usually Gotham's 3-4 course meal with wines. Not the best way to hurt their wallet but just i love steak =) |
Out of all the places people have suggested, I'd recommend Ciopinno's. |
go to stone grill or revolving restaurant |
go to places which cater to the actors and pro atheletes - bacchus, cioppinos, blue water etc. those are guaranteed to run your bill through the ringer |
Hy's has great steaks and cheesebread and beefsteak tomatoes and more. can't go wrong |
