In truth happiness shouldn't matter about money, it's being comfortable and content with what you have and making the best of things. I'll give him major props on his lifestyle (and the last line of the article) but I'm curious to see what he's going to do for the rest of his life.

I'm just happy that I'm alive and healthy with a good circle of friends and family. Everything else is just a luxury

bengy 02-11-2010 08:53 AM

Of course you will be miserable if you work like an idiot just to amass more and more wealth, without taking proper time off to actually enjoy what you buy.

If I had that much money I'd be taking trips to different tropical locations every month.

you! 02-11-2010 09:33 AM

i know you're joking, so i wont fail you.

the happiness money buys isnt true happiness.
its momentary, then its gone, and you feel empty.
like buying a new car, 1 year later, you want a better car and you're no longer happy with what you got.
the state of happiness is elusive.

SuperSlowSS 02-11-2010 10:21 AM

sounds like he just doesn't true friends. and when you are in that position.. it is hard to find true friends.
anyways, "happiness is only real when shared" :)

money can buy you temporary happiness, but not forever.

this guy should turn buddhist, im sure what he is doing will make him achieve nirvana.

hk20000 02-11-2010 08:10 PM

real story: wife wants a divorce, the preenup says she gets half his shit. He doesn't like that idea. Sets up a fake foundation thing in Latin America. claims to have all his money donated there, get a shit load in tax returns, move to Latin America and spend that money.

Surface story: what you just read.

you can't believe everything you read these days.

My happiness comes a quarter mile at a time. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free.
