Lost or Stolen BB

My buddy recently lost his BB 9000, phone was reported lost right after he realized.

Question is,
1) can this phone still be use by whoever pick up?
2) Is it going to have any credit effect on my friend's current plan or contract?
3)can this guy be tracked down from BBM if anyone picked up?
4)I dont think the PIN can be release by non-owner, so is there anywhere to track down anyone attempt to release the PIN ?

if it was password protected, then its as good as a brick to whoever picked it up.

best thing to do is report it stolen to rogers, and it'll end up on the Lost/Stolen IMEI db - search the thread by bcdrukes.

if the phone was on exchange. network admin could do a remote wipe and lock as well.

bcrdukes thread also states that they only do this for corporate losses ie. phones stolen from a dealer and not ones from individual users.

I had mine stolen, call Rogers and they can put a hold on the account so the phone ahs no service whatsoever
and no you cant really use the pin or anything to track it
try Craigslist...when I had mine stolen I found the motherfucker on Craigslist, arranged a meeting within 24 hours and got him arrested the next day
