External Hard Drives, can they be recovered?

I accidentally knocked over my external hard drive off my computer table onto the carpet floor. Tried turning it back on but it's unable to read anything.

Just wondering if it's still recoverable, thanks!

External hard drives work like any other hard drive so I don't see why it wouldn't.

Yes, The hard drive might still be fine, it could just be the cabling and motherboard of the housing that's fucked. :) Pry the living shit out of the external hard drive then connect it through a Sata cable or IDe cable. Etc etc...

Or get something like this http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=28...re=Thermaltake.

Well i cracked it opened, hooked it up, and i don't hear the needle making the contact with the disks.

That's all i pretty much hear is the ticking. :(

If you just open the outer case normally, that should be fine as well..
