Alexisonfire got cancelled. GG.

What is the rule on stuff you can bring in a bag? I drove by and saw metal detectors, I wanna bring my camera and maybe a stool to sit and maybe umbrella and a water bottle just in case.

Judging from Kardboard's tweets, reason for the cancellation of Alexisfire is "Barricade broken, trampling, one girl with broken leg" among other things.

JSALES 02-16-2010 10:49 PM

can't believe alexisonfire got cancelled, was waiting for so long just to see them perform. barricade got pretty fucked up though, people injured, some fights happened and whatnot..

Durrann 02-16-2010 11:05 PM

they were just too hardcore to start their set.

Wykydtron 02-16-2010 11:42 PM

Ya, Alexisonfire was pretty intense. The opening band had a huge pit/surge to the front as it was. The surge at the start of Alexisonfire was too much for the shitty barriers. Bunch of people hurt, one chick broke her leg and the bone protruded out of her flesh. Sucks, but it's understandable. Barrier was pretty much done in. I showed up at about 630-7 and it wasn't that long of a wait. Going to most likely have to end up showing up at that time again (get off work the same time etc) and hopefully I'll get in to Deadmau5.

Razor Ramon HG 02-16-2010 11:49 PM

^

For Deadmau5, you might wanna show up earlier than that.

Getting almost crushed physically at a livecity concert is no fun. alexisonfire concert only lasted 30 seconds cause some retards in the crowds decided to make Vancouverites look like asses in front of the world by pushing, crushing and injuring the crowds at livecity. They were racist, high and drunk. Not to mention obnoxious and aggressive.

JSALES 02-17-2010 12:31 AM

yeah, once the music started all of a sudden there was mad pushing and shoving and even saw a fight break out beside me, didn't wanna get caught in the altercation

JSALES 02-17-2010 12:45 AM

if any of you guys are going to deadmau5, what time are you guys planning on lining up?

God, I hate when there are complete retards at concerts. Like the idiots there screaming "BULLSHIT BULLSHIT" and "FUCK YOU, YOU SUCK". Alright they suck, thats why you just spent all that time waiting to see them right?

Grroooooooooooooow up.

I'm gonna be down there around 3ish probably. Going with a bunch of friends and chilling out/walking around for a bit before we go line up.

Wykydtron 02-17-2010 05:46 AM

If you've ever been to a Warped Tour, or any concert of a band like that, the surge/pit is pretty standard stuff. Love it/live for it at shows. Too bad the barrier wasn't up to snuff, but I must commend the job that the security was doing, especially during the first band playing. I have not seen such an efficient, and well done job catching/pulling down crowdsurfers in a long long time.

Man...I'm rethinking my plan to go see Our Lady Peace on Thursday if there's going to be idiots like this ruining the experience.

There's assholes like that in ANY crowd. No matter how well behaved it is. Overall I think that the crowd was very good. I didn't too many negative things being yelled myslef. Sure there was, but a lot of people were pissed about having to wait all that time to (understandably) have the show cancelled. What I do remember is everyone bursting out singing O Canada though. What about that moment? That was pretty positive and awesome if you ask me. Try to focus on the positives of shitty situations. The world has too much negativity in it.

I doubt OLP will have the same sort of crowd as Alexisonfire.

I'm actually rethinking if me and my girls should make the effort to do up Deadmau5. Seems like the lineup is going to be killer long. But if we do we're thinking getting there around 6ish?

ghetto fobolous 02-17-2010 03:06 PM

nack 02-17-2010 03:51 PM

i think its hilarious how the crowd forming at david lam park is only for deadmau5 when there's going to be 3-4 other bands playing their music and thinking the crowd is for them
