Looking for street hockey goalie pads Anyone know where I can find street hockey goalie pads, besides from Canadian Tire.? The only place I know that even sells street hockey equipment is Canadian Tire, but they don't have what I need: -30-31" -11" wide -calf wraps Sportcheck only has Ice Hockey stuff. And so does Cyclone Taylor. :( |
Cyclone Taylor Sports #401-5940 No. 6 Road. Richmond, BC, Canada V6V 1Z1 |
Wal-Mart sells some Vaughn street hockey pads. Not sure how good they are since I'm pretty sure it's probably made by some other company licensed to use the Vaughn name on these pads. |

The Hockey Shop @ Surrey Central. I use to get my Itech goalie stuff here. http://www.thehockeyshop.com/ It's a good excuse to go to Pho Tam afterwards :) |

Seems like they have what I might need there at the right price. Hopefully their site is up to date with their stock. |
Anyone know why cat-eye cages are banned now?? wtf?? |
If you shoot a puck dead center into a non-CSA approved cat eye, it can make it through. Sticks and stick blades can slip through cat eye cages as well. It's simple safety, really. If you're playing street hockey, it shouldn't matter at all. |
Yeah... it wouldn't matter for street hockey... which is why I think it's dumb... A cat-eye cage was one of the things I was planning to buy. Let people chose themselves if they are over 18. And they should stop assuming everyone only plays ice... D: Cat-eye should be safe for rollerhockey too, if they play with the orange balls. When did this ban start? |
From what I remember, goalies started shitting themselves around summertime last year :haha: Here's a link to the CSA regulations on the matter: http://hc-sc.gc.ca/cps-spc/advisorie...asques-eng.php |
lol... that's funny, I still see some cat-eye stuff being sold. Like at Canadian Tire. Stuff not for ice hockey though. |
Nabokov's cage broke a few years back, but it seems like all the NHL goalies use non CSA approved cages. You can always look online; it might actually be cheaper even with shipping included. Goaliemonkey.com has good full sets for sale, all for ~150 USD. Here in Calgary we have Pro Hockey Life stores, which sell mainly ice gear but still have ball hockey gear. It makes Canadian Tire stuff look like trinkets, but at the same price. I think they have an online store. |
puck squeezing through the cat-eye hole is as rare as getting struck by lightning. but they banned it because a stick blade can easily fit through and poke your eye out. http://i720.photobucket.com/albums/w...00316-2321.jpg |
