Noise from speakers (low audible hissing) Alrighty, so i've gotten my system all installed and i'm hearing noise from all my speakers, a low hissing noise that goes higher in pitch when i rev the engine up. heres some info on what i did. got a Panasonic deck, jbl GTO1004 4 ch amp, type s components in front, type-s speakers in rear. So i've run new wires to all these speakers from the amp. Currently ran my speakers wires, remote cable, and 2 sets of RCA thru the center console of the car. The power cable for the amp is running on the right side away from any signal cables. I do have metal to metal contact for my ground. I did a search and came up with a ground loop isolator, but not sure exactly if that will help? could anyone shed some light on this situation? |
The isolator may help, but you'll need two, one for the fronts and one for the rears. You may find that it reduces the bass though. This usually happens when there's a bad ground, either in the: rca; head unit; amp; alternator; battery connection. It could also be a defective deck, amp or alternator. Tracking that down is a time consuming pain in the ass. |

so from my understanding the isolater is pretty much gonna be a band aid fix (and probably not a great one either) alrighty! trouble shooting here i come XD Thxs for the info! |
Yes the GLI is a bandaid. What kind of car is it? What is the condition of the battery alternator and charging system grounds? If you like swing by here and I can take a quick (emphasis on quick) look into it for free. Check your alt, battery and system grounds and maybe lead you in the right direction. |
remove the RCA wire from the amp - test to see if the noise is still there. if it's still there, the problem is from the amp itself or from the connection. if the noise is gone, make sure the RCA cable is away from ALL power wires. do not group the rca and power wire together even near the amp. if that still doesn't work, swap another rca to see if the problem is gone. if new rca still won't work, check for grounding on the deck. make a new ground point if possible. if that still won't work....you deck might have a problem |
