What Happens To My Motorcycle Learners After Driving Prohibition?

My driving prohibition recently ended and there are a few details I'd like to confirm about my motorcycle license.

Just to clarify, I didn't have my class 6 before i was prohibited, only the learners permit and I had also passed the MST/MSA. I was told by a few friends that I would not need to retake neither the L test nor the MST once i get my drivers license back. Is this true? I don't want to start riding again and then get pulled over for not having a valid motorcycle license. I was planning on calling icbc in the morning but hoped you guys might be able to point me in the right direction first.

Any help is appreciated.

It's really simple. Once your period of prohibition has ended, you FIRST MUST go to MVB and pay to reinstate your DL. You will have to pay off any existing outstanding fines etc and pay a fee to reinstate your DL. At that time, ask the question and they will tell you what is required. Remember, just because the prohibition is ended, you do not just take up where you left off. Don't drive/ride until you to to the MV Branch first. You are not prohibited...but you do NOT have a valid DL until you do. Being prohibited and being unlicenced are 2 different things.

Thanks for the response.

I actually had my DL reinstated at ICBC a few days ago, but I forgot to ask them about the motorcycle license. I assumed everything gets reset and I just restart the one year motorcycle L period again.

I went to ICBC this morning and it turns out you do have to retake the motorcycle learners test and the MST parking lot exam as well. So I took the L test on the spot and now I'm going to book the MST asap.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for getting back to us. Now we really know the process. Good luck on your MST. Remember clutch, throttle, bit of rear brake and turn your head in the U turn form stop.
