IMO the 5 series lost its good looks after the e39 generation, the e60 gen looks a bit too busy and bulky and i'm not really feeling the direction bmw is going in its designs, they no longer look elegant. simple, but breakthrough looks are the key to longevity when it comes to design, but extremely hard to do.
