depends where you parked, if it's underground parking like scotiabank theatre. i've never seen a tow truck down there before, only because the lot is too small.

but it doesn't affect your credit rating, so fuck it. buy a round of beers or something instead.

Can they even legally go after the owner (credit-wise) for something that they may not have necessarily even done?

as a owner of the car, u are responsible for it. Same as if a camera click u running a red light.. u get the ticket in mail..

here's what u do.
wait until they send you another ticket. then complain that u never saw the first one.
and u pay ticket if they send u a copy.

ughhh...wouldnt spend an extra $18 bux on a different plate saves a lot more hassel?

hey buddy - can you change your avatar to something more user friendly? its a little to risque for the regular side of rs!

or anyone know if there is a way to turn off individual user avatars?

Yeah, you can turn off all avatars in your control panel. But not individual ones, unless you set that person on ignore I guess...

wasabisashimi 03-05-2010 09:53 AM

what if your license plate is 888-FUK. would you spend $18 dollars for new plate?

Amuse 03-05-2010 11:43 PM

I parked at metrotown and they gave me a ticket 2 weeks ago. It was by Diamond Parking. $57.75 if paid within 10 days and $73.50 if paid after 10 days. I paid it but it was a lot just to park at metro. Is it a good idea if I ignored it?

$18 - new license plate, end of issue, they do it on license plate, nothing else

Don't they have your address and phone number?
Won't they go after you that way?

Isn't metrotown parking free? Plus, it doesn't matter if it was a good idea or not now anyways since you already paid

rule of thumb, ignore private parking companies, never ignore tix from city.

Last time I got harassed by impark it was some guy from india and I kept arguing I don't know what hes talking about and I said would you like some curry

OMFG LMFAO....

Anyway, I park on an impark lot 4 days a week. I get a parking ticket like 2-4 times a month. This has been happening for the last 2-3 years. I never pay. I've never been towed. Is this a cool story bro?

They have a record of your car description and your license plate. Do they secretely record your VIN as well?
The people in this thread said they have been called and harassed. So I guess they can get your info.

they have your info, so what?

they wouldn't be able to prove anything in court, especially if you changed the plate

really, people need to stop getting their knickers in a twist over a $50 ticket

i had a $450 ticket i just got out of with some BRILLIANT court play - that was fun - at NO time did i think i could lose it, and i didn't, was a really fun thing to do... but over $50, change your plate and call it a day & stop worrying about it

q0192837465 03-08-2010 12:03 PM

I always wonder. Say you get 50 tickets from Impark. You changed your license plate. Some other sorry soul take your plate. Would he get harassed/towed by Impark?

Oh, something else I forgot to mention. If your car is leased, call Impark and pay that ticket. The leasing company WILL pay the tix and ask you to re-imburse them. There's not a way out of this. Better pay now than to get dinged mroe with late payment

exactly, i dont know why we get threads like this every couple weeks. people just need to chill when they get a ticket from a private lot

they don't recycle plates very quickly at all, if at all - also plate + car won't equal what impark has, so a person taking your plate wouldn't get dinged - so this is a non-issue

re: leased cars... i can't speak to that, i'd check out your contract - i wouldn't have thought the leasing company would automatically pay these fines

Brian Jessel will cuz I got the bill from them.

that's because brian jessel has something up his arse... i'd read my contract carefully - i'd NEVER sign anything that authorizes a third party to pay tickets like that, you haven't been found guilty of anything so why should they just pay up (from a very fundamental legal stand point, this goes against everything i believe in teh legal system, something i've been using a lot to my advantage recently)

BMW135i 04-23-2010 11:49 AM

Just received a parking ticket letter from IMPARK. Saying i have to pay $80 within 14 days or else its going to collection. I'm suprised they got my name and address too.
