video card help
 
so im looking to buy a new video card for my new rig.(currently using a evga 9800gtx+, but i plan to give it to my bro since he needs a new vc)dont really know much about the new video cards out so can some1 recommend me some

comp specs-
amd phenom2 x4 965 BE
ASUS M4A79XTD Evo mobo
corsair 4gb ram
silverstone olympia 700w psu
2 500gb western digital hdd's
azza 1000 case
win7 64bit


i was thinking of getting the hd5770 or maybe 2 5750's in crosssfire, but i unno open to suggestions

Nvidia's fermi chip comes out next this month on the 26th, if you can wait till the end of the month, you might be able to snag a VC for less. Especially if you're shopping around the high-end of the market.

I wouldn't expect any price drops at anything below $250 though, since Nvidia is only releasing their premium gear.

I would recommend the HD 5770 if you want to buy now.

If you're looking for DX11 support I'd go with the 5770. If you're not I'd get either a 4870 or a 4890. The 4870 runs a bit faster than the 5770. And the 4890 would be a bit better than both but it won't have DX11 support.

5770 for DX11
4870/4890 for a tad but more performance

What resolution do you plan on playing on?

is the hd5770 better than my current 9800gtx+?in my windows experience index thing my graphics card gives me a 7 but when i checked on my friends comp that has the 5770 he got a 6.dont know if that matters but that seems like a big jump
