Anyone play that instead of DOTA or HON??

Can you compare or comment on it?
Someone told me awhile back that League of legends are for kids and its very cartoonish. And that League of Legends in short is LOL and that if a game is called "LOL", I shouldn't touch it. I know he is probably exaggerating.

So let me know the truth.

by the same criteria warcraft is for kids too, its called art design. They Design a stylized game to make up for the fact that it runs on pretty low end machines, and in the end I prefer the look of LoL over HoN any day.

I think League of Legends is superior. Better art style and its way friendlier to noobies. You could say casual, but it allows for a better learning experiences. Also, the community is better. Even though the general DotA community is shit and filled with assholes, League of Legends has less of them.

In the end LoL will always be free-mium , and while I'm mostly a FPS, Racing, and Strategy(TB like CIV) and I can still enjoy LoL without being griefed so go check it out.

When I found out that LoL was like Gunbound in that you can buy items to make your hero better than non-itemized heroes, I lost all interest.

by quite a big margin too...

agreed, but i like the stress-free environment that LoL has, with no stats and all.
also, so much easier to stomp people in LoL due to the fact that many of the players suck so badly.

there's a hidden rating you have for non ranked games.
you can check your ELO online on some websites.

LoL is a dumbed down version of HoN... lol

HoN is for the hardcore dota players that deny, rage, and actually team play.
LoL is fun for dicking around and casual gaming.

Hon all the way. It's way more technical. One thing that grinds my gear tho is that HON doesnt have Drow.

But when dota 2 comes out later this year, I'm gonna switch to it.

Dota/Hon > LoL. League of Legends is a joke. I tried the game before, and it doesn't even allow you to deny creeps. Hopefully Dota2 comes out soon.

you're assuming dota2 will be a great game before you even know shit about it :failed:
for all we know it could be a total joke..

it will likely be like dota, as icefrog is leading it.
if you read the q&a, it shows that dota2 will have the same gameplay.
ex. juking, animation cancelling, orbwalking, etc will all be there.
this is not like LoL, where they take out one of the most important things in the game, denying.

Thats kinda not true.. buying items/points just speed up the process of you getting certian stuff like heros or buffs..

Buffs to begin with arent that expensive so anyone can get them pretty quick after playing a hand full of games.. BUT heros on the other hand.. unless there in the weekly random roll of heros, you have to buy them with points you either buy or win from playing games.. heros can cost quite a bit so if your planning to only play to unlock every hero... thats gonna take you a long time lol..
