I think it was only a harness bar, not a cage. You need the harness bar to properly mount the racing harness.

And IIRC, the car in the picture had 01 red rear seats.

this add has been up with different pictures with same text multiple times...

though if it was true, id hit it up and have a cheap reblt ITR...be a fun track monster

!e.lo_ 03-12-2010 09:38 AM

i saw that ITR ad
the sunroof set off my alarm too, being nerds as we are.
and the pics, uh i dont know any girl who likes 4/5 point harnesses... and the right image i'm sure its a euro-spec model.

emailed two days ago, no response.

as for the one for $8999, i looked at it... its oka if u don't mind spending more cash ontop of it. but it has 6 claims, i even did a carproof :(

Tegra_Devil 03-12-2010 10:49 AM

^^what else is wrong with the 8999 itr?

!e.lo_ 03-12-2010 11:11 AM

well rebuilt, which is already stated.
front bumper cover isnt OEM. its aftermarket OEM, so fitment is funny.
fender doesnt line up with driver door.
surface on lower corner of driver door where it meets fender.
surface rust on fender where it meets front bumper.
missing stock fstb.
dampness in trunk, interior carpets and ripped

i mean if someone strips it down, and builds it up to be a tracker or something, sure. but as a road car.. i don't know about its safety.

i think some did come with AC.

The pictures showed it with 01 red rear seats but the ad says 2000, weird. Those red rears are hella rare considering they were only on CDM ITRs and only a handful were ever sold that year for the Canadian market. The picture has the euro plates and euro clear corners but doesnt have the EUDM bumper. The ad overall seems sketch...

Also that other ITR for 8999 was on RS before for I think 13000. The seller never had it in the ad it was a rebuilt status and buyers flocked over there only to come back on RS saying it was a rebuilt.

First thing I noticed was the rust on the Rf fender and the really shitty fitment of the nose to fenders.

acutally this car is fine... i know cause i know the dude.

Hes getting married so hes trying to get rid of it quick... nothing wrong with the rebuild.

umpadupa 03-12-2010 11:15 PM

^i would agree, BUT personally.. i would not drive a car thats rebuilt unless i personally rebuild it. If u've seen some of the "rebuild" jobs out there... its a joke.. and they just pay for the inspection pass

Yes, that can be the case, but there are some of us out there that actually give a shit about fixing a car right.
I've dealt with rebuilds for many years, and i've seen a lot. Some terrible fix jobs, and some excellent repairs. I've personally never bought a new car and always drive rebuilts, never had any problems, but that's mainly because I know who I deal with. You get what you pay for. You want a perfect job but dont wanna pay much? Perfect fitment, no orange peel paint, everything right? Get ready to pay up.
However, there is nothing really to fear. You can tell a shit job from a good job.
Get a a personal mechanic/body man to take a look at the car. Also, ask for pics of the car before it was fixed. An honest person who deals with rebuilt cars will show you tell you the damage and what was fixed. You can save a LOT of $$$ buying rebuilts.
My brother has been privately selling rebuilt cars for 7 years or so. Many people he's sold cars to bring back their family to purchase more. The price difference between a rebuilt vs non-rebuilt can be huuuuge. He often sells 07,08,09 Honda Civics (usually LX,EX) for around 10-11k. Depending on model, km's etc.
Compare that to at least 15-16k though dealership or other private sellers.

umpadupa 03-12-2010 11:46 PM

^ im not shitting on the ppl that actually do good rebuilds, i have worked in a legit body shop, and learned how its done right; that's y when i go out to the market, all i see is crap.
( my friend drives a rebuilt fit, and its great so i dont have anything against the good ones)

FUN DC2 ITR FACT: USDMs didnt come with recaros.. :p

JordanLee 03-13-2010 12:17 AM

The stock USDM's were made by Recaro. And in Canada AC was never an option. You had to purchase it seperately for a GSR or similar and install it yourself or get the dealer to do it. That's what I heard from my previous seller and some forums.

tofu1413 03-13-2010 12:22 AM

^ apparently not my friend.. they are honda seats.

stock CRX Si seats are made by recaro (stamped under the bottom somewhere)

we'll never know till we're either Recaro/Honda, or we cut up your seats...

and I think there's only one that's happening
