Cops said it was last seen in surrey..but they will get back to me.

So if you see it first, plzz call the cops

Then you shouldn't have put it on the street. Chances are your car will be impounded and you will have to pay a fee for that, if they even found it.

Just a question about this situation...If the car gets into an accident with another party, can the OP get heavily sued? I mean although the car has been stolen, it was taken from the street and the car isn't insured. Will he be pretty much fucked if the car gets into an accident right now?

Raid3n 03-12-2010 07:13 AM

did you call all the tow yards in your area? might just have been impounded

yea, OP will be responsible, registerd owner will be responsible for losses. But the OP can go after the person that stole the vehicle, that is if he is in custody. other then that, registerd owner is responsible for not buying storage and liability.

=( yikes

usually when you car gets impounded and you call the police to report it stolen, the police can track it down to see if its at an impound lot or not... of course without license plates, its a little difficult to "track it" lol

K..soo I decided to call the police back today and question why it was 'queried' and not taken in. The lady on the phone then explained that if the car was queried(by vin #..no plates),they should have towed/impounded the car. So long story short she made a couple calls, called me back and sure enough the car was towed. It is now being investigated and they will call to get me to pick it up. Thanks for all those on the look out but if you see me driving it(black male) dont call the cops lol.
