if they are transit "Police" they have the same powers that an RCMP member has.
if it is transit "Authority" they are just like sensor or securicor.

They have full police powers in b.c.

There is transit security and transit police. The transit police have full police powers like RCMP and any municipal department.Transit Police officers go through the same training at the Police academy.

Yeah, in all transit vehicles and sktrains it says that the Transit Police have the exact same powers as any other Police Deparments in BC.

I second that. This info taken first hand by asking one of their Police officers . Very nice guy to take the time to answer my questions btw.

They actually have greater provincial police powers , more then municipal police departments (VPD , Delta PD) because the transit system and areas they patrol goes beyond every jurisdicition (Ie: Vancouver, Richmond , etc. ) Hence also their name chance to South Coast BC Transportation Authority Police, working name Transit Police. Interesting facts.

I know several of them as former RCMP Members and have worked with them. They are fully qualified Police...just working a specific "town".

sorry, i was thinking about the CP Cops that i met during the olympics.

OT, Transit Police has a great color scheme for some of their squad cars (black and white).

They are sworn police officers and like any other police officer (RCMP, VPD, Delta PD, etc) their jurisdiction is all over British Columbia.
