this show just aired tonight in the US...720p is on most torrent sites. Original run was last year in the UK. Should be greatt another 10 million + GBP show

edit: this actually aired in canada last year by discovery channel apparently (narration was by attenborough), but this US discovery channel one is done by oprah lmao.

welfare 03-21-2010 09:38 PM

watched the whole thing through. great series, but prefer attenborough

twitchyzero 03-21-2010 09:42 PM

so you watched the discovery channel canada one? all sources were saying that it was narrated by attenborough and only the US (the one that's starting today) will be done by oprah:cry:

welfare 03-22-2010 06:41 PM

i guess. either that or british. dunno. saw them all on ninjavid. like 8-10 eps.
some extremely beautiful footage

Delish 03-22-2010 08:08 PM

Looks like an awesome series. I caught the Reptile and Amphibians episode yesterday on TV and think I do prefer David Attenborough's narration over Oprah's.
p.s. Komodo dragons are so bad ass haha

TOS'd 03-22-2010 08:16 PM

Definitely Attenborough > Oprah. I love ep4, the ocean one. I always liked the water related one, like that other BBC documentary which the name escapes me right now but it was like Blue, or Deep Blue, or something like that.

Expresso 03-23-2010 01:13 PM

I caught an episode on Discovery and it was Attenborough.

garage.adrian 03-24-2010 10:59 PM

I really hope Oprah Winfrey doesn't become the next Morgan Freeman. That guy is narrating everything now adays.

murd0c 03-26-2010 02:46 PM

I got my g/f the whole box set a couple years back. Its really neat to watch when nothings on

So this is entirely different from Planet Earth right? If so, then I'll get the Box set. I already have most if not all the Nature series in Blu Ray(Planet Earth, Ganges, Wild China, etc etc).

twitchyzero 03-26-2010 08:44 PM

i read on another forum some guy claims some footages are from planet earth
i dont know if i can believe that or not since i didn't see any reviews mentioning it

murd0c 03-27-2010 03:09 PM

That life series was filmed in the mid 90's planet earth actually got the idea from them.

Hi_Im_Mike 03-27-2010 08:02 PM

Mid 90's with that great of camera footage?! Wow that's really amaing...I love this serie. I have episode 1-10 so far...Can sumone PM me the link to episodes 11+? Of course tha one narrated by david and not Oprah =D

twitchyzero 03-29-2010 05:56 PM

source? i highly doubt this was filmed before planet earth..which was shot in the early 2000's

twitchyzero 09-06-2010 09:53 PM

bumping a half year old thread
finally got a chance to watch this..in HD of course.
felt the episodes that i originally had least interest in turned out to be my favourite ones (plants and primates)
seeing the behind-the-scenes to understand how much production value, attention to details and patience it took to film was an experience on its own
i enjoyed it more than planet earth...must own if you have a blu-ray player...worth every penny! (that's if you get the attenborough version of course)

hotjoint 09-07-2010 06:52 AM

Bought this when it first came out. I like it way more than planet earth and yes get the david attenborough version, oprah sucks! :lol

SkinnyPupp 09-07-2010 07:11 AM

Really, I thought Planet Earth was better.. This one has extremely annoying cartoonish sound effects, that seems to be common in BBC nature documentaries. Planet Earth wasn't as bad

Alpine50 09-08-2010 01:13 AM

Watched it for the first time. Pretty cool

Fuhrėr-Z 09-08-2010 01:31 AM

Planet Earth was better, but this is still very high quality television, don't know if I'll buy the box set like I did for PE.

Alpine50 09-23-2010 10:24 PM

What date and time is this show on? I keep missing it

twitchyzero 09-23-2010 10:49 PM

i dont think it's airing..your best bet would be to buy the dvd/blu-ray or download.
