Called pc... they are aware of the problem. They say it's safe and problem should be resolved by Monday. However the recalls with their cookies and salad dressing is another matter

El Bastardo 03-28-2010 06:17 PM

You mean the same company that puts it's brand name on cookies and salad dressing isn't a reliable source for banking?

I'm SHOCKED

danned 03-28-2010 10:16 PM

what had happened?

Looks like they forgot to renew their SSL certificate for their online banking site.

i thought the thread title meant don't use online banking on your PC for today... the cookie picture clarified things nicely

underscore 03-28-2010 10:55 PM

woah what's this about cookie recalls? fuck, I shoulda known the chocolate chunk ones were on sale for a reason.

orange7 03-28-2010 11:40 PM

what's with all these dumb threads lately?

Harvey Specter 03-28-2010 11:45 PM

A little more detail in the OP would have helped.

corollagtSr5 03-29-2010 01:57 AM

the salad dressing part is what threw you guys off

SkinnyPupp 03-29-2010 02:08 AM

There's a President's Choice bank now? LOL

What next, Kirkland Signature? :lol

hotjoint 03-29-2010 02:37 AM

Thread title is very misleading

SkinnyPupp 03-29-2010 02:42 AM

I'll edit the title

Gnomes 03-29-2010 04:55 AM

It was just the SSL problem. I originally thought someone have hacked the site and inserted a fake site when "online banking" is clicked. It turns out to NOT be the case. Please lock thread.

Yes I am paranoid but when it comes to money, can never be too careful.

That's exactly why we should be worried. Whenever you are the only Financial Institution in the game to offer Mobile Banking on your cellphone on an UNSECURED WIRELESS connection, you should be worried. There's a reason why no other Bank Institutions in Canada are taking that approach.

Unless you're clueless about who I speak of, I am talking about CIBC.
