TO ALL CANADIANS THAT USE CARFAX.... DONT USE CARFAX USE ICBC REPORTS!

Carfax is mostly american and wont have up to date info on canadian vehicles.

^ someone told me that carfax does keep records of vehicles if they go to the dealership.

i wasn't sure if this was true can anyone confirm or deny?

From what I've found, CarFax does have ICBC claims and whatnot on there - how timely, can't say but accurate to within 6 months for sure. Can't comment on the ICBC reports, never used them.

You guys are correct that carfax has ICBC reports and dealership vehicles use carfax but it seems they were very outdated. When purchasing my last vehicle I checked many cars using carfax but most of the pages were blank while ICBC reports had full detail on the same vehicles.

If it is and always has been a BC car, ICBC is your best bet.
US car's will (obviously) be better off with CarFax.

However, CarFax or ICBC can only report what has been reported to them. If you get into an accident with $2K damage, are you gonna report it to ICBC and get your premiums jacked up? or just fix it yourself?

Don't waste your money on those reports.. take it to an indy that you trust, and get them to do an inspection on it.

Just wanted to point out that carfax doesn't do unlimited searches anymore...
Better buddy up and group buy that 5 search pack!
