Waterproof Spray Vapours
 
So, just got back from spraying my shoes with this Champs waterproof spray.

Ok, should've thought about it sooner but are these vapours are prob really bad for ya, I sprayed it outside but the smell still got to me, but i didnt wear a mask like the can said

I imagine smelling something that can make something waterproof is bad...so how bad is it?

i'm just being cautious

What the can says is a lie. Huff enough of it and you can breathe underwater.

The can releases VOCs (volatile organic compounds), which arent good if inhaled over a longer period of time (chronic toxic effects)..

basically, unless you werent sticking your nose in the shoe wondering where that smell was coming from, you will be fine.

if a chemical actually says its bad for you on the can, it must be REALLY bad for you.

realistically though, a bit of exposure probably wont harm you, but extended exposure will.

waterproofing sprays sound similar to scotch guard or teflon. they are non biodegradable and are transported through water and air. they are found in the cells of animals who have never come into contact with humans in areas where humans seldom explore. its found in the cells of all humans and does not leave our bodies like normal foreign materials.
