Buying Cigarettes Online

Has anyone purchased cigarettes online and has gotten it successfully delivered to Canada?

if so, for how much? and on which site?

Greenstoner 04-12-2010 09:50 AM

go down to state now and stayed 48 hours and bring back 10 cartons.

average 25 bucks each carton at the duty free... i just bought 5 cartons back last weekend..

Davidoff $33/carton

Ch28 04-12-2010 09:59 AM

Aren't you only allowed to bring back 1 carton?

i believe its 1 carton tax-free also. equivalent of 200 smokes.

UnDeadMage 04-12-2010 10:09 AM

i think its still cheaper to buy it in the states whether they tax you or not. or you can just buy 20 cartons and declare nothing.

You have to be down their for 48hrs before you can bring back booze or smokes. You can not get booze or smokes shipped across the border.

if you're gonna illegally bring back 10 cartons, why even wait the 48 hours?

$37 for a carton on provincial tobacco taxes
$17 for federal excise taxes

plus GST and PST on top of the taxes. Yes, they tax you on the tax.

Fafine 04-12-2010 11:51 AM

maybe greenstoner went down with 10 people

TOPEC 04-12-2010 02:17 PM

nm checked it's min 48hrs.

just curious, people under the age of 18 count towards the total quota or no?

Sgt_Koopa 04-12-2010 02:17 PM

Smoking sucks ... waste of money. But if you must buy ... how about on a reserve? Or are those crap quality?

You know what, logically they should not count, but I THINK it's a loophole in that it doesn't discriminate the exemptions based on age.

As in if you went down as a family of four with two adults and two children for over 48 hours, I think you're allowed to bring back four cartons of cigarettes.

I could be wrong though... wouldn't mind someone showing something that definitively states one or the other.
