Automotive Service Tech vs. Automotive Tech

What's the difference between these two programs at BCIT? AST vs. Automotive Technician? I registered for the AST program but just wondering if this program stills offer the Red Seal certificate? I'm a bit confused as i'm registered under the AST program but it seems like the Auto Tech program is the one that offers the Red Seal certificate. It is an apprenticeship program as well. Can someone give me some info on this, which would be the better program to get into? Thanks

im in auto tech apprentice level 1. the only difference between the two, is you are apprenticing for a company in my program, and have less school and more work...

with ast you have lots of school, then they place you with a job, then you go back to school....

i think but im not to sure, but i think you can get to level 4 red seal quicker with an Auto Tech app than with AST....but really i dont know..

i was also signed up for AST, but got into Auto Tech quicker
