Windows 7 WIFI problem

I had this problem before but I dont remember how I fixed it

Well I formatted one of my laptops to Windows 7
I can't connect to any wifi connection regardless of security. It keeps failing
I tried manually putting settings and IP addresses
Any help?

Did you try connecting with all security turned off?

Are the drivers up to date? Also check to make sure the hot key for wifi isnt off.

so if you take your laptop to a different wireless router that works before and it won't work either or is it just that 1 particular wireless router?

did you install all your wireless drivers after you reformatted?

Do you have any 3rd party wireless configuration software installed (i.e. Toshiba Configfree, HP Wireless Assistant, etc.) ?

If so, uninstall that software, reboot, and try again.

first of all when you hard wire connect, do you get connected to the internet? sometimes there is a power feature that shuts the power off to some devices and needs to be turned on manually...
