It's usual for Hoya to have a spelling mistake?

Not that I'm aware of. I have personally never seen a mis-spelled hoya product. But again, I never purchased hoya HD. Only seen from frd purchase. For the money I usually just pick hmc unless I can find cheap second hand filter in good condition.

haha i just got mine and it says Licesed too.

fuk the slim profile is such ah PITA to take off. I got it really stuck the first time i attached it which is to a stepdown ring i got as well. Had to grip the ring with pliers and fuk up the thread slightly. The glass is AWESOME though. super finger print resistant and is very transparent compared to other CPL's.

BARELY any vignetting on a 16-35L stacked with a Super HMC UV.

Ok that makes me feel a bit better. Where did you buy it from? A reputable dealer? Time to invest in filter wrenches maybe?? lol.

The filter does seem to be very high quality.

Finally got a chance to try out the Hoya HD CPL filter since the weather was nice finally. Pretty happy with the results..

CPL makes a ton of difference when shooting outdoors when the sun/clouds are out.
I almost never take my CPLs off even shooting indoors. I find that it helps minimize reflection on glass when shooting from the inside out.

Anyone have any experience shooting with a 77mm CPL using a 72-77 step up ring?

My concern is at the wide end- I'm wondering how much (if any) vignetting there will be using the ring. It's not terribly wide ~18mm

getting a cpl off a stepup ring is a bitch.
