totally true

but i really dont find antons to be that bad tho

sushi garden aint too shabby, do not like sushi town tho if u wonna go for korean style sushi

hamsup 04-26-2010 08:17 AM

I think sushi king is by far better than samurai. Their quality of seafood just taste fresher. I hate how samurai always gives you frozen tuna that you have to wait 20-25 minutes for it to thaw out before consuming.
I am not a huge fan of sushi garden... i rather have sushitown on the other side of burnaby !

hirevtuner 04-26-2010 08:40 AM

which sushi king is good? one on kingsway or granville?

Truth. Been there a few times and have enjoyed it every time. Good food and good service.

LiquidTurbo 04-26-2010 09:02 PM

Yea, Toyo Sushi is pretty good. The fact that they survived the Cambie Canada Line construction says a lot. Really fresh sashimi!

RollingStone 04-27-2010 05:29 AM

Samurai sushi has the largest sushi I've ever tried LOL. If your #1 priority is cheap and filling this is the place. For the same price I'd go to sushi garden though, their portions are smaller but tastes much better. I like the new location a lot more than the burnaby one, even though its near my house.

its the one on west boulevard =)

hotjoint 04-27-2010 07:26 AM

I've ate sumaurai sushi many times. Nothing wrong with it in my books. Then again I only really like cali rolls haha

maxxxboost 04-28-2010 11:45 AM

I say go find out for yourself. If it's unsafe to eat, they'd be closed down already.
Seems like this place hits most of the points you listed.
Opinions matter but the only opinion you should think about is your own.
You won't know until you find out.

what do u expect out of korean sushi joints

they are all like that

sas 04-28-2010 02:43 PM

That 1st picture with the slab of atlantic salmon sushi is just attrocious. How the hell are you going to shove that in your mouth? I understand that its fast food but that is absurd.

canuckfan72 04-29-2010 06:29 PM

LOL! everyone is bashing Samurai. Trust me when your a high school student with no car, Samurai or Banzai (Richmond Location) tastes pretty good. But of course my other options are like either mcdonalds or #9.

bcrdukes 04-29-2010 06:33 PM

You do realize this is Revscene, right? Where all the haters gonna hate.

California rolls are not sushi.

That's fine. We all ate crap when we were 16 because we had limited options. However, by the time you graduate high school, you should know better.

And saying that good sushi costs a fortune...that's a myth. You can get a decent bento box or sushi lunch for about $10-15 bucks. Sure, it won't be as filling as a Samurai house roll that's the size of your forearm but you'll be eating food that doesn't taste like crab-flavored cardboard.

Mr.Jay 04-29-2010 07:30 PM

go to Zipang on Main )Vancouver)

good sushi but its not cheap like samurai

you can always go to Matsuyama on Alexandra (Richmond)

after 9pm its their "late night" menu which is fairly cheap tho not as much as it was before

:werd: can't go wrong with their california rolls, house roll is ok too. Sashimi is not great in terms of value or taste though.
