Even if you tried, under well-prepared condition, I don't think a regular person can maintain perfect consciousness with no food/water in 15 days. Most of us will die/serious dehydration without water for 3 days. Without food, if you have enough fat, you might be able to survive for around 2 weeks, but again, perfect consciousness is very hard if not impossible, as your body will enter a conservation state and you would barely be able to move your hand.

It would be really interesting if they can discover the true reason behind this. Imagine a day human no longer need to eat but rather for pleasure only. The resources we will be saving is unimaginable.

Speaking of bacon, I notice that some vegetarians get an upset stomach when they smell animal grease. It's like they feel like vomitting if I eat my bacon cheeseburger next to them. If you put bacon next to this guy, he may start throwing up.
