Wedding Slideshow

so my sister's getting married in Aug, and she asked if I could do the slideshow for her and her fiance. Now I've never actually seen one before, let alone try to make one.

Here's a longshot; I'm guessing some of you guys may have worked at weddings before. Does anybody have a sample slideshow or some tips on what I should do? The only issue is that I'm stuck here in London till a week before the wedding, but I still really want to do it. It's a pretty fancy wedding, so I really don't want to disappoint.

thanks!!

save the hassle and use iphoto or imovie (if you have some video shots)...this is because you have never done it before...don't need to put it to a dvd...this is also if you have a macbook...

if not i think there is a free windows movie maker that you can use...

fix the orientation on the photos and create a 'new album slideshow'...let the software do it all for you..

Download "Soundslides"...one of the best software around.

I have done a few and used Adobe After effects with Photo shop but that's to complicated for the avarage user.

Few tips.

1. Use a lot of group shots. Guest like to see themselves in slide shows.
2. Fill the screen fully. If the picture is in portrait orientation use 2 side buy side.

powerpoint works, but i used adobe elements for mine which is awesome for incorporating audio/video/pics. for just adding pics and audio it was decent, anything more it get un-user friendly in typical adobe fashion.

make sure you know the AV setup at the restaurant. I put it on dvd w/ Element, but the freaking restaurant didnt have a dvd player, only a PC to project setup...the audio was basically using the laptop, or burn an audio disc and run it at the same time :(
