Dog Food, best place to buy

I'm shopping for a new dog food for my Bulldog

he is suffering from allergies for some time now, and i want to take action and try to change his diet and stay the hell away from those vets.

first, i want to know where would be the cheapest place with lots of brands to choose from. Something like tisol but they are quite pricey

second, what you did with your dog's diet and how you dealt with it. (right now he is eating Royal Canin-bulldog type)

also any websites or place in lower mainland to purchase Malaseb spray/shampoo? I know i should ask my vet but i wonna see if anyone here had experience first.

If you are looking at sticking to kibble i would suggest a simple ingredient food. Something like Natural Balances limited ingredients, or Wellness'. Foods like these are only going to be found at the smaller stores. best bet is to check the little ma and pop pet stores in your area as some of them may be cheaper.

The other options are a raw diet (either you can make or buy prepared diet) or cooked meals.

If you're staying with dry food, check out Now! and Go! from Petcurean (http://www.petcurean.com/). They're a local company and all their foods are grain-free. You can get it at most local stores, from the little specialty shops, to places like Petland and Petcetera. Susi, at our local store Fetch A Bone (http://www.fetchabone.ca) is a pet nutritionist and recommends the brand.

A guy in my building also has bulldog (Buddy) with the same allergy problem. He has him on a pork and yam diet. His dog was going to the vet a lot but with the new diet he is reducing the dogs allergy meds.

I buy my dog Orijen Adult dry food from Tisol. Orijen's main company, Champion pet foods also makes Acana. Both are great premium dog food that I would recommend to anyone.

Tisol is $18.99 per 5lb bag of adult Orijen that I buy for my dog.
Tisol gives you a free bag after you buy 10 bags.
You get the 11th bag free. The staff are friendly and good.
King Ed Pet Centre charges $15.99 for the same bag.
You save $3 per bag.
Still a little cheaper buying from King Ed Pet Centre.
