Converting VHS to DVD

Hey guys,

It just recently dawned on me that I should get all my oldschool VHS tapes of me when I was young transferred over to DVD before they start to wear out completely ... thing is I have no idea where to start or how to get it done.

I've googled a couple sites and some shops specialize in doing that service locally but they are all pretty darn expensive... I have quite a few tapes I want done.

What solution do I have for this? Am I suppose to just goto Future Shop or Best Buy and buy one of those VHS/DVD Recording units to do myself?... is that the most ideal way?

Please advise! Thanks!

The VHS to DVD recording units work well enough if your original VHS tapes are in good shape.

I assume you already have a VCR, so in that case, just get yourself a dvd recorder. Hook the vcr into the dvd recorder inputs and click record, pretty simple. The unit below will do the job. If you really want to save money and there's no use for the unit, just sell it back out.

Another option is to get a video card with video capture. hook up vcr and audio to sound card.

Thx tacobell, I'll see if I can find one of those at BB or FS!

Manic: What the heck is that?!... I'm not super tech savvy LOL! (if at all)

you connect the box via USB to your computer and then connect your VCR to the box. It transfers the video to your computer and then burns it to a DVD.

Found something even cheaper
