LF: High output shallow mount sub

I have 500 watts rms at 2 ohms and need on or 2 shallow mount high SPL subs that will fit under the rear seats of a Ford explorer Sport Trac.

Any dealers got anything? Anyone got any recommendations?

I'm hoping either...
a) you mean 500 watts...
b) the 50 watts is for something else.

Theres a pretty slim selection for thin subs. I've been on the hunt as well. Most of them have the same specs and are near the same in price, like the ones MTX offers, and rockford fosgate offers.

If you have some decent cash flow, look into the new JL slim mount, it's around $600 I believe, but it is one of the best out there. I think RE audio has a new one out as well.

Fixed.
The RE is D4 and 350 watts RMS and the JL is 3ohm. Earthquake also has one thats 300 watts RMS and 4 ohms.

We have had some great experience with the Pioneer shallow mount subs for both ported and sealed applications. They also come in either single 2 or single 4 ohm configs.

I have been looking at the Pioneers. I don't think the 12 will fit and and one 10 at 2 ohms might be to much power maybe 2 tens? Other options are a Kicker 8 inch L7> would really love to get one of These installed but I think they are two deep.

Here are some measurements under the seats in inches. 7hx50wx12d. The amp I'm using is 22 inches by 10 inches.

Yeah you could do two 10's. Pretty sure the Kicker 8" will be too deep. Have you considered the DD 1508 8" sub? Thats a pretty kickass sub!

At 5.25 inches for mounting depth I think it is too deep and I needs a 1 cubic foot box.

The kicker 8 is only 4.75 inches for mounting depth, has not vented pole from what I can see and only takes .33 cubic feet for a box so could squeeze in 2 or do one ported.

I run a pair of Premier 10's in my truck. Powered by a Focal 1.800. Does the job. Not as smooth as the Morel 10's I've had in there previously. The Morels are shallow mount, but they are a little pricey. just under 3 inches mounting depth, IIRC.

By your dimensions it looks like it would fit fine (at 7" high). If we are talking centimeters then maybe not. LOL...

I have heard the Kicker 8" in a ported box and it sounded pretty decent (well, boomy but not too bad). I have heard the Solo's in sealed boxes and have been less than impressed. They are meant to be ported. The Pioneers work in a very small enclosure as well (sealed OR ported) and sound pretty impressive too.
