| Logos design tutorials, resources?
So I've been wanting to learn on logotype, identity stuff. Can someone school me on where to start? Which program would be the best for this?

Photoshop
I don't think there aren't really "tutorials" to make logos. Isn't it just text/picture based on what you want to design. You can see other logos at http://thedesigninspiration.com/ |

I've been reading blogs and looked through graphic-exchange for inspiration. Pretty much just play around with photoshop and developed your own technique.

Pretty much, it's like asking how you draw or paint a picture.

You'd better learn Illustrator.

Illustrator is vector based while photoshop is used for touching up photos.
Vector + Logo = no resolution problems when you need to make it bigger or smaller. (not pixelated)
I also find illustrator much much easier to use when it comes to having text in your logo, a lot more control.

+1 on Illustrator.
I would type up a whole essay on what the differences are between vector and bitmaps (i.e. JPG's that come out of your camera), but Google does that job better: http://www.eastbywest.com/pub/vectorbitmap/
