I've been looking around for info on Google, but there isn't one recurring answer. Can you use a Bell Pearl Flip (8230) with a Rogers sim? Obviously I would have to get it unlocked, but the Blackberry site only shows that an 8230 only works on CDMA, but Bell uses sims now too.
Any thoughts? Should I just look for an 8220 instead?
really? so how come almost all websites that offer phone unlocks say they can "unlock" a Bell or Telus Pearl Flip? what would be the point of unlocking if you can't use it with any other SIM? or am I just confusing myself?
Weird.. im checking the Blackberry 8230 site, and it says it is CDMA AND GSM together
If that's the case, YES you can unlock it and use it on Rogers, but it will only work on 2G, meaning you won't be able to use 3G HSDPA. http://na.blackberry.com/eng/devices...ifications.jsp
Thanks for the links. I don't think 3G would matter anyway because I think the pearl flip only works on edge (cause the new pearl 9100 is the first to have 3g in the pearl line up). I can get a pretty good deal on a bell pearl flip so I just wanna make sure I can use it on Rogers even if it is on edge. Hopefully the unlock works and all. Don't know if I should take the risk on buying it or not. I'm sure someone on here has done this and can shed some light on the experience.
