FREE GYM MEMBERSHIP @ STEVE NASH FITNESS WORLD VALID TIL JUNE 15

Friend who works at fitness world sent this to me through facebook, thought i'd share with you guys since it's free

Quote:

Start Time: Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 6:00am
End Time: Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 11:00pm
Location: Cambie Steve Nash Fitness World
Street: 555 West 12th Ave
City/Town: Vancouver, BC

After over a year of working at Cambie Fitness World I FINALLY get to hook you guys up with something actually worth mentioning!

We're trying to expose a younger audience to heath and fitness, and what better way to do this than via Facebook? Feel free to invite your friends too, we've got an endless supply of free passes!

So what's the catch?

- You MUST activate it at the CAMBIE location, after that, however, you may use it at any of our 13 Steve Nash Fitness World locations.

- The pass expires June 15th, regardless of when you activate it, so the sooner you come in, the better :)

- Please ask to speak to Kylie or Tasha, they're the cousellors helping me set this up because I don't work every day. We would prefer that you call ahead of time so that we can have a pass set up prior to your visit to make things go along quicker. But if you don't own a phone or insist on just walking in randomly, then so be it, but either way:

*** PLEASE MENTION THAT YOU RECEIVED THE FACEBOOK INVITATION ***
(This is really important or you won't receive a free pass, sorry.)

- Oh and you must be at least 14 years old.

What does it include?

- Unlimited access to all 13 Steve Nash Fitness World locations (this does not include the Downtown, Richmond, or Morgans Crossing Steve Nash Sports Club locations

- Unlimited specialty classes at the Cambie club (Indoor Cycling, Yoga, Pilates, Hour of Power, and Zumba)

So come on in as soon as you can, it doesn't matter WHEN you activate it, your pass expires on June 15th. Just be sure to mention that you received the invitation on Facebook!

Hope to see you all pumping iron and all that other good stuff soon :)

nice will try this

Ludepower 05-11-2010 12:58 AM

this facebook promotion is just another monthly gimmick to get you into their office. Be prepared for the longest sales pitch...like buying a used car...they'll keep hounding you...calling your phone...anything to get you to sign a contract. Majority of people who sign up quit within the first couple of months...and are left paying off a 2 year contract.

My advice...join if your serious about your physique...if you're a newb...goto ur local rec center and pay monthly...test yourself there to see if you're dedicated enough.

They will hound you and tell you bs like "Oh if you sign up now, I'll waive this $60 fee.." etc. etc.

It really depends on who helps you @ cambie and 12th, the brown girl, like any brown salesperson, will hound you and pressure the shit out of you. Never dealt with any of the other reps but they can't be much worse.

Not a bad gym, definitely look into it.

dachinesedude 05-11-2010 07:36 AM

these sales people are the ones that make you sign the contract first before letting you test drive, i totally walked out of the one at Gilbert this one time, not going back

They always have the same promotion going on "Sign up now and get a free month"

it sucks because they lock you in for two years, and for the first two years its $36 a month then it drops to $20, but if you want to cancel before 2 years is up they charge you $xx for every month remaining, I forget how much it is.

rymack 05-11-2010 08:04 AM

shift and control to get rid of the é and turn it to ?

nns 05-11-2010 08:20 AM

To disable French keys permanently in Vista (none of this "Hit Ctrl + Shift for 10 secs BS" to temporarily disable it):
Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Keyboards and Languages > Change Keyboards > You should see a bunch of languages listed under "Installed services", such as English, French, etc - remove every language there except English (I have just "US" listed). Hit OK.

Sandman 05-11-2010 09:06 AM

lol fuck stop talking about the stupid question mark

shenmecar 05-11-2010 01:35 PM

whats the monthly fee?

Thanks for that, this shit always happens to my laptop.

Anybody tried the promo yet?

dub.g 05-12-2010 07:17 PM

last i went to steve nash richmond, i tried that 1 month trial that my buddy got for. Infinity dealership in richmond was handing them out.

i went with my gf back in sept, 2 months fresh from when they opened, so there wasnt alot of people going on week nights at 7pm

for those ppl that said about the sales consultant giving you hassle about making you sign a contract first time u walk in, its fucking true!

they will give u a 1 hour sales pitch even before they give u a tour of the gym..

the first visit, me and my gf right away said no to the contract and we will see and re consider when our pass expires in a month

so what do you know?, they didnt give us our card pass, so whenever we drop by, we have to see the fucking sale consultant to "check in" but to give us more bs about signing up right away to get a good "deal"

made a visit there 5 times, IMO, the gym isnt bad, its actually great, i just find that the people there are arrogant, just because they work out at Steve Nash attitude

Blah_Teggie 05-12-2010 08:27 PM

I guess I'm not the only one who got hounded by the bitch at the Gilbert Fitness World. Went in only once to try it out and the bitch there made me sign up for 3 months! I kept declining and declining and finally gave in just so she'd shut up! Now I go to Fit Express and they're way better. They actually allow first timers to try out their gym for free and even send you a free day pass to go back again. No sales pressure!

You should just buy some weights and leave them at work. Or better yet start curling some 4336-0901.501 and work your way up until you can curl 1130.505's.

spoon.ek9 05-12-2010 11:54 PM

damnit! doesn't include the 2 locations i would use :(

SpuGen 05-13-2010 02:59 AM

The Gilbert Fitness world SUCKS.
Cambie one is tiny.

Best ones I've found were the one off Arbutus and the one on Georgia.
I'm usually at the Georgia one since it's kinda close and I can bike there in about 25 minutes. I do my workout, and bike back. The downtown Georgia one is 24hrs except for weekends

nns 05-13-2010 09:04 AM

^What sucks about the Gilbert location?

Which locations would those be?

I think some of you guys are confusing Steve Nash Sports Club and Steve Nash Fitness World. Steve Nash Sports Club is a more upscale gym compared to Fitness World, and they have 3 locations: http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&um=...ed=0CDcQtQMwAw

Fitness World used to be a completely separate entity, but was bought by Steve Nash and Co earlier this year, and was rebranded Steve Nash Fitness World. They have more than 3 locations: http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&sourc...22301&t=h&z=13

The offer the OP is talking about applies to the Fitness World locations only.

dub.g 05-13-2010 09:32 AM

id still refer Steve Nash Fitness World, as simply Fitness World

the one i mentioned earlier on my post was Steve Nash Sports Club.. which does cater to more laid back casual people

vafanculo 05-13-2010 09:45 AM

Im at Steve Nash fitness club and I love it. Checked out Gilbert fitness world only once. Their cardio is not too great, old machines. However I kinda like their weight selection and layout as it feels more of a real gym. They seem to have more hardcore weight selection aswell.

The only thing lacking at richmonds Steve Nash fitness club is the size of the free weights area. It's kinda narrow and jams up easily if there's alot of people. Especially when you get a group of 5 guys that like to hover around one bench and talk.
