What's the ballpark price for a new windshield anyway? Mine is starting to get really pitted.

depending on what coverage u have, the deductible for auto glass is $200, thats if u have glass coverage at all.

FerrariEnzo 05-11-2010 07:00 PM

so how much is it going to those glass shops to get it replaced? is it almsot the same price?

coz i hate dealing with ICBC... all they do is try to avoid paying anythig to you...

Qmx323 05-11-2010 08:13 PM

for my 87 accord was $443
92 acura legend was $457

and this was at crystal auto glass
mind you these were quotes

that's probably the cheapest way ... just pay the deductible

Bonka 05-12-2010 10:09 AM

Either pay the glass deductible or pay out of pocket. I was quoted around $460 for a replacement glass for my winter beater, and that's a regular windshield I think it was somewhere around $1,100 for those with the rain sensors.

The other alternative is to find a used windshield and have a mobile shop install it.

gdoh 05-12-2010 10:10 AM

youtube that shit lol

Yau Bong Glass outside of Yaohan Center is best priced for this kind of stuff.

You don't even need to deal with ICBC yourself.
Go to Speedy Glass / Broco Glass
Shop who are ICBC authorized Express Windshield replacement center.

tofu1413 05-13-2010 11:37 AM

walk in icbc approved shop --> pay deductable --> they talk w/ icbc --> ????? --> profit + fixed

Phil@rise 05-13-2010 12:02 PM

I have a mobile glass guy at my disposal and he's very reasonable.

TOPEC 05-13-2010 12:11 PM

u dont need to talk or deal with icbc, all u have to do, is pay the shop the deductible and that is it.

FerrariEnzo 05-13-2010 07:16 PM

yea i just drove up to the Broco Glass on No3.. as soon as i parked the car he step out and said,

"just pay the deductable"

haha i was like sweet.. at first when he put the info in the his computer, there was something wrong, then he called up ICBC and everything is fine.. my appointment is end of the month.. i forgot to ask the guy, but is it $200 cash and no tax or is it done the legit way?

DA9ve 05-13-2010 07:51 PM

dont go to speedy glass on kingsway and e12, they do shit job on my driver side window, took them weeks to figure it out and still didnt replace the window when i can visibly see that there was a fitment issue with it.

I think there is no tax on the deductible so it's legit. :)
