minimum working hours...
 

i don't know if this is a myth or it's reality, because honestly this thing gets tossed around but nobody seems to do anything about it really...

is it really legally binding for an employer to pay a part-time employee a minimum of 4 hours, no matter how long they are at work?

if you work 1hr and employer asks u to go home, the employer must pay for 4.

if u attend a 2hr meeting, the employer must pay for 4hrs.

what if its a 30 minute meeting

i remember at my old job when it wasn't busy, they'd send you home and not even pay you for 4 hours. they just said you have to work at least 2 hours which is bullshit

30 min meeting meeting you still get paid for 4 hrs.

if work calls you in or you have to attend for anything <4hrs - u get paid for 4!

the employer has to pay unless otherwise specified in the employment agreement..
that's the same as overtime pay..you don't get it if that's what it says in the contract

i dont get this at my work
but overall my work is flexible so i don't bothering asking to be paid for the time i'm not working.

It's 2 hours minimum now.

It used to be that as long as you showed up for work, you'd need to be paid for at least 4 hours, but now it's changed to 2.

So if you get sent home after an hour, they're legally obliged to pay you 2 hours.

doesn't make sense if people are having 1 hour meetings and getting paid 4 hours...that's the first time iv'e heard of that.

My friend used to get paid for 4 hours overtime on the weekends just to answer his phone to answer a question from a worker (was a manager). must have been nice to make $120 for 2 mins work without leaving your house.
