how did i know that aznboi128 would reply to this thread |
I like the body style of the 2001. So its up to you. Which one are you going to enjoy driving and looking at more. |
people do cl-s 6 speed manual swaps to 6th gen accords... but if your just planning on keeping trannies, no huge modifications, i would get the low mileage 4th gen they will just never die no matter what you do to it |
hm.. I think the 92 would have a slightly better gas millage just cause it's a 4cyl. Don't quote me on this. |

Both the 1992 Accord EX-R and 2001 Accord EX V6 are automatic sedans. The 1992 Accord EX-R costs $4000 whereas the 2001 Accord EX V6 costs $6000. Neither the 1992 Accord EX-R nor the 2001 Accord EX V6 are rebuilts and neither of the aforementioned cars have been in any accidents. |
$4000 for a 92 seems steep, unless it's been religiously maintain and seller can provide maintenance records I would just keep looking, there are tons of accord on craigslist. and I would definitely avoid the V6 auto for year 98-2005 |

I own an 00 ex-v6 for nearly 7 years now and it's still on its original tranny. either luck or I'm driving like a grandma :) |
depending on price, status, and how you're going to use the car comes into consideration. As mentioned the tranmission on the 2001 Accord V6 have been problematic. The older accords are really nice. I've always been a fan, and they are super reliable and go forever. It does look very outdated though. It all depends on what YOU like better. Check both of them out. Drive both of them, and serious think about whats the better buy. Good luck. |
Now I am also interested in a 1995 Toyota Camry V6 LE sedan with 120,000Km. Should I buy a 1992 Accord EX-R sedan, a 2001 Honda Accord EX V6 sedan, or 1995 Toyota Camry V6 LE sedan? I need some more opinions about whether to buy any of the aforementioned cars. Thank you all for your help. |
Can't go wrong w/ the 92 EX-R. Tough as nails, cheap to own, decent gas mileague, great beater car. |
