Decent camera under $150 Hello Photographer gurus i hope i am posting in the right place. i need some advice on buying a relatively simple decent digital camera. the purpose of the camera is just a simple point and shoot for family use. dont need anything fancy. will be used for both indoor and outdoors (so low light needs to be ok) so far i have come across Nikon s220 coolpix but upon reading reviews, its saying that Nikon low end cameras suck compare to other ones. so my question is which brand and model would you recommend? thanks for your input!! |
go with a canon. Not the prettiest brand in terms of point and shoots but. Great quality photos in their point and shoot lineup |
Canon P&S should serve your needs just fine. They make some of the best P&S, and have been doing it for a while now! Side by side, comparing the cheapest Nikon Coolpix vs the cheapest Canon, the Canon wins out, even in build quality. You can't go wrong. |
Nikon can't seem to make a decent Coolpix for some reason. Your best bet is one of the Canon, Panasonic or Sony P&S cameras. Is your $150 budget before or after taxes? The Canon A495 has an MSRP of $149, and there is a $20 rebate from June 1 ~ June 30. |
^ Even cheaper than that dude. http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-A495-2-5-Inch-Silver/dp/B0032JRRYI |
oh one more thing BUY ON LINE! My p&s was $100 cheaper online than the cheapest in local store at the time i bought it. |
thanks so much for all the advises. really appreciates it. since the camera will be for my gf, is there a camera that compromises a little of quality for stylish designs? also when you say buy it online, is there a specific site that good or just then general amazon? |
also right now walmart has the cannon sd1200 on sale with a case for $148. does that look like a decent deal? |
