Big Chain stores like Best Buy are greedy pigs. Selling a 50cent wire for $15-20 bucks? Why would they even check IP? This is the perfect opportunity to have positive PR while having a low cost ($10 -> their real cost is probably $2) .
You must be balling outa control to pass on a good deal like this! Why don't you talk shit about superstore and home depot about charging people extra taxes over the years.
You have the habit of insulting anything that you think is "sub par" to your uber fucking high "moral standard".
To be fair, the margin on electronics like computers and televisions is actually lower than you'd think which is why they have to mark-up accessories and warranties to actually turn a decent profit.
If BestBuy/Futureshop are greedy pigs, then don't shop there.
Why would every member of your family need an SLR camera? Couldn't you just buy one (or two) at the most and share them? I guess some people just have too much cash to blow.
I guess it's like the desire to have a TV in each room of a house. I just don't understand it.
Yes I've worked at best buy before so I know what your saying. I don't shop at best buy nor futureshop by the way.
My family loves taking pictures, so why not?
Buying the SLR at an extraodinary price which will last 5-10 years is a great gift for family members.
FYI I didn't even bother with this deal, I'm just saying there's no reason why bargain hunters should be called greedy pigs lol Posted via RS Mobile
Why not? 220 for a sick camera, I'd buy it just to look at it, replace my digital camera, give it to family, give it to friends, sell it on craigslist. $220 is too good of a deal to pass, if it was true i'd buy 5 as well, one for each member of my family? Is there anything greedy with that?
Maybe I can make this a bit easier for you... Canon 7Ds arent actually in infinite supply from the Canon fairy - Future Shop only has so many cameras in their inventory. Lets say somehow this ridiculous price was actually honoured - the point everybody is trying to get through to you is that you can only use one camera and when you sell the other 4 you bought for your own personal profit, 4 other people who wanted one for their own use didnt get to buy one.
That's what makes you a greedy pig.

if you guys who got GC's don't want to use them, i'll gladly take them off your hands

The wires, warranties and installations of home theatres and etc. are where they make their money from. Profit margins on TV's, iPods and gaming consoles are very thin.

Thank you!
Buying one or two for personal use - fine. But buying 5 - you're clearly trying to take advantage of the situation and screwing others over. Not saying you specifically, but just generalizing.

Econ 101. Everyone is greedy.
Housing bubble, stock market crash, etc etc all caused by greed.
Why do you need 4 houses when you can only live in 1. Are you calling investment being greedy too? I buy a 3rd house at a bargain and sell it for $50,000 more. Am I greedy? In the real world, it's called making a great investment.
If they did honor the deal, I wouldn't mind buying their whole inventory. You can call me greedy, but why in the world would anyone pass on a great opportunity to make an amazing profit?
And I'm not setting this pricing mistake as a standard, i'm talking about the deals that actually are legit to begin with.
If that makes me a greedy pig in your eyes, I could really careless.

don't bring ur mumbo jumbo school stuff here. next time u order from mcdick's, half the workers there probably got degrees.
and that greedy theory is only part of the microeconomics theorem. and it's only a theorem, doesn't mean it'll work in real life. and if you put in all the clues of microeconomics in the equation, all u get is a big IDONTKNOWTHEANSWER

umm....mumbo jumbo school stuff? What do you mean degree? You learn that shit in high school.
If you ever learned shit, you'll actually realize the world is powered by greed.
When you put all the theories in school into real life, it will only give you more advantage in the real world.
If you went to school and still "IDONTKNOWTHEANSWER", well, best of luck to you!

Greed is not the correct word due to it's connotations of "evil"/"bad" behaviour.
What people act out of is self-interest. That is the word you need to start using.
Invisible sky daddies commanding people to do shit is just so beyond retarded, I feel like punching myself in the balls until I shit my computer chair.

You're using the theorem wrong. It is only advantageous when you understand the concept.
Let me ask you, is it greedy to donate blood? Why do people donate blood if they are greedy? Why do people donate their money, food, and even clothes? Why do people give barber tips? Why do you tip at restaurants? If everyone is so greedy and that includes me. Why did I turn down free potato chips even though I know I like them.
When you answer some of these questions using your greed theory, you'll find that everyone being greedy is too general and means nothing. What does it mean to be greedy? Oh! Look! Everyone is greedy! lols
Let's go back to the thread example of the possible cheap SLR camera. Yes there is the guy who purchased 5 of them and yes he is greedy. But I chose not purchase any when it was available. Under your theory, I must be greedy too. It sure tells us a lot about being assuming everyone is greedy huh?
Buying that third house and than flipping it is not greedy. Flipping it when you know that if you do so affordable housing all around will decrease, because the homes are undervalued, drastically is greedy. In this case had the cameras been in stock and you bought 5 therefore notifying the seller of their mistake is greedy. Posted via RS Mobile
Buying a 3rd house and flipping houses will inadvertically increase housing prices in the surrounding area making it less affordable for others. This is why vancouver housing price is one of the highest in the country.
Get your head out of the gutter for godsakes. Fine. Greed is too harsh for you people. Self interest then.
If there was a limit per household on a sale item and I decided to scam it some how then yes, I am a greedy little whore. But when something is on sale without a limit and I want 5 of it for whatever reason, and that depleted the inventory left to purchase at a sale price. So what? Shouldve went to buy it before me. People donate blood to help people, therefore they gain something from it, not materialistically but emotionally. Same thing with donating money, when I donate money not only do I help kids, I get the satisfaction of knowing I did something to help(gain for me). I hope you understand where I'm getting at. People give tips for good service and for reasons of, not being cheap, hot waitress, happy mood. Various reasons that are for your own self satisfaction(gain for the tipper).
As someone said earlier, maybe I used greed in the wrong context. The reality is everyone is indeed greedy in some way. You'll realize it one day haha. Posted via RS Mobile

bullshit, tvs and home theater system have a large sum of revenue. I know cuz i saw their cost before
ipods and gaming consoles, yes next to none. Simply becuz shitbox/sony/nintendo are taking advantage of it, same deal as CD/DVD
surprisingly laptop/PC dont have much margin to move either, but hence why the warranty is there to make up for it.

um no, tvs have a markup of let say, 10-20% where as accessories have a markup of 100-200% maybe even 300%...
there's a reason they push hard on the accessories when u buy electronics from them, telling u "oh u should get a monster cable surge protector, u dont want to spend thousands on a tv and shorten its life?" and then people fall for those talks.

Do you not see the bounds crossed to back up the statement "everyone is greedy"? I'm just saying it's too general and meaningless to say something like that. It's a good way to look like you're smart even though you know it holds no real meaning.

If you can't see why hoarding 5 cameras to yourself is being greedy, you are unable to distinguish between being greedy, and being reasonable.
