Question when using Blackberry in US I'm going to vegas and I havent travelled with my Blackberry before (had a regular cell before). I dont plan to use it very often but I don't want to come back with a crazy bill. I have some questions: 1) If I turn off the data setting on the phone will facebook notifications still be sent to me? 2) Will BBM work if I have the data setting turned off? BTW I'm with telus. |
If you select data to be OFF. The blackberry logo will go away next to the EDGE/3G symbol and you will not receive fb or bbm mssges. Nor will you receive push email. When you arrive back home and turn data back on everything will push to your phone including all the mssges ur friends sent while you were away. |
1) NO and 2) NO Your BB will not receive any data when you turn off your data setting. It will be like using your BB w/o a data plan. You can only make phone calls/text. |
simply put it, you turn data off. it'll be a phone |
Turn the phone off and just use wifi connection if you have it on your phone. That's what I did when I went to Missouri. Your bbm, push email, facebook will work ok with wifi connection. |
I got the Blackberry Tour so it doesnt have wifi. I called Telus and they suggested turning off the data on the phone and said I have unlimited free texting in the states. So thats the route I'm going. Thanks for the tips. |

What if I don't have data? Will I get charged on my startac? Posted via RS Mobile |
I would suggest getting the Rogers One Rate plan. It allows you to use data in the USA without roaming charges. If you argue with retentions they can give it to you for free I think. |
wait is bbm free worldwide? |
