I bet you didn't even use google back then (not nitpicking - it's funnAy). I remember searching for porn on Altavista and Lycos. You also didn't have the convenience of image searching. There was nothing worse than waiting for some slowass page on dialup, only to be hit with disappointing boobage or poon. |

its absolutely unreal how fast times are changing. 10 years. it seems like things like the internet and facebook and cellphones and DVDs have been around 'forever'. but FB has only been popular for 4 years, the internet and cellphones for about 15, DVDs maybe 10? not to mention how many times do we google earth a camping spot or store? order something online? download movies? play online XBOX. things everybody absolutely take for granted are still ridiculously new. |
^^ my mom has been saying that for ages. it's true. "i used to have to use an outhouse, and my family was the only one in the neighbourhood with a TV" in 50 years, look what has changed. it is hard to predict what life will be like 50 years from now. we prolly can't even imagine what the world will be like. |
^ technology grows exponentially..i won't be surprise if we'll be nearing the limits in a few decades...and from thereon the advancements gaps will slowly shrink i remember my socials teacher in hs said our kids generation will probably not have all that much better quality of life compared to our generation..but the gap between our generation and our parents generation is pretty wide. |
This/your generation may be the first to do worse than the previous. Had to happen, I guess. |
^ This past 10 years have changed so much that your Kid is on RevScene too! :lol |

If technology does indeed grows exponentially, the next 10 years will be even more intense. Who knows maybe I will get to live in space before I die in 50 years. |

If we don't completely destroy ourselves or the planet by then. |
Any predictions what 2020 will look like? Everyone has video phones? Blueray 3.0? Computers with Terabytes of Ram? |

only a fraction of the ppl on earth actually get highly educated. Imagine the number of engineers and research scientists China and India can potentially pump out. |
in the next 20 years, the gap btw the rich and poor will be substantial |
^ it already is now |

I watch a lot of Star Trek and the one quote that stuck with me the most is from Picard "A lot has changed in three hundred years. People are no longer obsessed with the accumulation of "things". We have eliminated hunger, want, the need for possessions. We have grown out of our infancy." |
